Move by government to allow direct marketing of tea lauded by Chair of the Agriculture committee in the Council of Governors as proper move to get more funds directly to the farmers. 18 counties that export tea are already working on legislation to this effect. Farmers say this will improve their earnings by doing away with the brokers at the Mombasa Tea Auction who determine the prices of their harvest.
