Did you know that around 80% of the content that you post on your Fan Page is NEVER seen by your fans? OUCH. As a matter of fact, the larger you build your audience the WORSE it gets. However, there’s a way to fix the problem and I’m going to uncover that in today’s video.
HOW TO INCREASE YOUR REACH ON FACEBOOK
While preparing to do a training on Facebook marketing, I stumbled upon this website called AgoraPulse.com. They have a very interesting tool called a page barometer. This tool is what helped me to discover that my reach was being short circuited.
With the page barometer tool, over 8,900 pages on Facebook are tracked to measure the following four criteria:
-Average number of fans reached by each post of the page
-Average percentage of users who have liked, shared, commented or clicked each post
-Average number of fans who give negative feedback
You can also integrate your own fan page into this tool and compare your actual numbers to the averages and see how you measure up.
Based on this tool, if you have less than 1000 fans, your posts are reaching about 32% of your fan base. Between 1000 and 10,000 fans, your reach plummets to just over 19%. Why is Facebook “punishing” you for have a large fan base? I’ll have to cover that later, but for now let’s focus on the solution.
It’s actually a pretty simple fix. Most of us focus almost exclusively on getting people to like our fan page. From there, we assume that have a like is enough to get our message across. The fix is to go from getting likes to getting them to follow you.
The follow is the fix. Your effort needs to shift to including encouragement for them to FOLLOW YOUR PAGE. When they begin to follow your page, you can rest assured that when you post something to your fan page it will appear in their news feed. For some of you, getting people to follow you will DOUBLE your reach nearly overnight.
Facebook Fan Page Marketing: 2 Ways To Increase Fan Page Followers
To make this a quick and easy process for you to implement, I would suggest that you BOTH of the following two things starting today:
Ask them to follow you. Seems simple enough, but you do need to put forth the effort.
Create a follow button. In the Facebook developer’s page there is a section for social plugins. Under that tab, select “follow button.” Once you create the follow button, you can add it to your blog or any website that you drive traffic to.
Start working on changing your language from “Like me on my fan page” to “Like me on my fan page then follow me to get access to all of my latest content.” This little change will mean big results in your impact.
