Shop owners from the Old City of Aleppo began preparations to get back to business after the area was taken back by the Syrian Arab Army from opposition forces, Sunday.
SOT, resident of Aleppo (Arabic): “The thing that we want of Russia, as it helped us in liberating the old city of Aleppo and its markets, we want it to help us to rebuild Aleppo and its old city and to rebuild all of Syria, God’s will.”
SOT, officer (Arabic): “We are searching the old city and the markets to remove the remnants of weapons, in order to help civilians to return to their shops and to reopen them and work there.”
SOT, shop owner (Arabic): “I came to my shop in this souk. The souk is destroyed because of the terrorists who burned most of the souk. Every shop in the old Aleppo markets provides and supports 5 families.”
