Throughout my career I’ve primarily been the David – only occasionally the Goliath
I can tell you Goliath has a major advantage in marketing – but they are vulnerable
If you have the right David, you can knock off Goliath
Yesterday a man scaled the Trump Tower in Manhattan with suction cups.
And while he was eventually Caught, he trended on social media throughout the day –
His video explaining why he did it reached 2 million views so far
And while we don’t condone this type of activity but there is a lesson here
If you want to play David, and reach Goliath’s customers, you need to get attention – He got the attention
Over the past three centuries—from governments to businesses and beyond—had to be ‘Big’ (“Goliath”) to survive.
But now, with social media now small organizations and individuals (“David”) can compete on a level playing field.
