Turkish Airlines business class nonstop San Francisco to Istanbul, including the boarding process, the meal service, extras, the lavatory and the entertainment system. In all, the Turkish Airways service was efficient and polite without being intrusive, the perfect combination. However, the seat was not the most comfortable and the entertainment system had older selections. Also, the food, while good, was nothing special. At IST airport, business class passengers have a special immigration line, but the attendant didn’t want to let me through because my flight’s boarding pass had the previous day’s date. Apparently nobody taught this person about time zones. After some emphatic gesticulations simulating the round earth, I think she got the idea and let me pass, although I had to double back and pay for my visa at a vending machine and then try again.
